Gordon Bennett

I am a graduate of Lawrence School as well as the High School (1979). I’ve worked in the financial markets since college both in NYC and Boston. Since moving back to Brookline in 2001 with my wife, I’ve raised two sons, served on the Brookline Override Study Commission in 2008 and co-sponsored one warrant article. I’ve served on the Board of Congregation Kehillath Israel for over 10 years, with the last three being as president.

Amongst the issues facing Brookline, growing housing stock and police funding levels are paramount. I am supportive of selective zoning changes in existing areas of development including Boylston, Harvard, and Beacon Street to enable more apartment construction; at the same time, I am uneasy about disrupting the fabric of longstanding neighborhoods in other areas. On police funding, I support maintaining funding levels in real terms.
