With TIME to follow thru on issues important to my neighbors and the town. Endorsed by PAX and Brookline by Design.
I have been the owner/occupant of the lavender, three family house on the corner of Brook and Perry streets for 40+ years. While my children were at Pierce, I served on the PTO Committee that started The After School Extended day programs - the first in Brookline - We also served as a METCO host family.
Today:
I am a member of Mothers Out Front Zero Waste Team composting with students at the high school.
I’m also a beekeeper with hives at Alandale Farm.
History:
I have served on numerous committees and design review boards. I’m most proud of:
Receiving a Woman of the Year Award from the Brookline Commission for Women.
Authoring legislation that’s increased the diversity of the Town’s work force from 12% to 38%.
Authoring legislation that regulated the large, yardless daycare centers use of public playgrounds to prevent toddler turf wars and set town wide safety standards - at that time there were 29 daycare providers, large and small just within a 1/2 mile radius of town hall.
Preventing the destruction of the Dennis Conroy Memorial, the small green island at the intersections of St. Paul St. and Aspinwall Ave. from the developer of the nearby apt, complex. Dennis grew up in pct. 6 and died in Vietnam.
Digging thru the paper history of an earlier Boylston Street Study Group and discovering the concept of “SKYSCAPE” in their notes. Saved the White Place neighborhood from constant shadowing. Became standard for new construction in abutting commercial residential zones along the Boylston St. corridor.
